Job summary

VOLTO Consulting in Seattle, WA seeks an experienced C++ developer with Perl experience to build high-performance software on Linux/Unix. Independent visa holders only; 8-10 years' experience required and willingness to own full-stack components.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, optimize, and test C++ and Perl tooling, APIs, and cloud integrations (Azure/AWS). Strong debugging and CI/CD practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, memory management, and modern C++ standards.
• Strong Perl language syntax knowledge including OO Perl and tooling.
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments and relevant commands.
• Experience with SQL databases (SQL Server/MySQL/PostgreSQL) and data access (Entity Framework/LINQ).
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive UI design; cloud platforms (Azure/AWS); Git, CI/CD, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable C++ software on Linux/Unix.
• Design, develop, and maintain tools and automation scripts using Perl (and Shell/Python).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and integrate components.
• Optimize C++/Perl code for performance, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and debug across C++ and Perl environments; write unit/integration tests.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, memory management, and modern C++ standards
• Strong knowledge of Perl language syntax, including object-oriented Perl, and experience with building, designing, running, and deploying Perl-based tools
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including familiarity with relevant commands and running scheduled applications.
• Experience with Entity Framework, LINQ, and SQL databases (SQL Server/MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive UI design.
• Experience with microservices, API integration, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and clean code practices.
