Job summary

GE Vernova is hiring for a blade manufacturing role focused on trimming, scuffing, and reinforcing various blade types. You will follow updated work instructions, operate grinders and tools, apply glue for voids, and maintain 5S while working in a safety-conscious environment.

The shift is Mon-Fri 10pm-6:30am. Candidates must be able to lift 40 lbs, stand long hours, and wear a respirator. Base pay ranges from $22.88 to $27.15 per hour, with GE Vernova offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle heavy objects.
• Able to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Experience operating basic hand tools, power tools and heavy machinery.
• Willing to work with a respirator in a manufacturing setting.
• Lam I and Lam II certifications; practical assessment required if pursued.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and adapt to changes as they occur.
• Scuff laminate surfaces with pneumatic grinders to remove gloss.
• Remove laminate defects with various pneumatic tools.
• Apply glue to areas with voids inside and outside the blade.
• Work inside the blade while adhering to confined space plans.
• Potentially work with chemicals and wear PPE as required.
• Grind excess glass and resin inside and outside the root end.
• Clean inside of blade and maintain 5S standards.

Job description

Perform a variety of tasks to trim, scuff and reinforce all blade types.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and adapt to the work instructions as they change.
• Scuff laminate surface with pneumatic grinder. (Take the gloss off)
• Remove laminate defects with different pneumatic tools.
• Apply glue to areas that have voids (inside and outside the blade).
• Employees working inside the blade must adhere to confined space plan.
• May work with variety of chemicals.
• Grind excess glass & Resin inside and outside the root end.
• Clean out inside of blade of dust debris.
• Wear designated personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain 5s standards.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to lift of carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Requires usage of respirator.
• Lam I, Lam II certifications (not required – must complete practical to obtain)

Desired Characteristics
