C++ Software Engineer – High-Frequency Trading

A systematic trading firm operating at the cutting edge of high-frequency execution is looking to strengthen its engineering core with a ULL C++ Engineer.

Most speed shops are chasing the same thing: shave enough nanoseconds off the stack and you win. This firm's problem is more interesting than that. The speed still has to be there, sub-microsecond and nanosecond level execution, but it has to survive underneath models that are often derived from deep learning and other ML driven research. Building it fast is one thing; building it fast while the logic underneath keeps getting more complex is the actual job.

You'd be working across the full trading system stack, building and optimising the infrastructure that powers live trading at scale, and working closely with traders and quant researchers on problems that reward technical depth as much as engineering pace. A background in tech or AI is fine, arguably preferred, so long as there's a real history of building large scale, high performance C++ ecosystems behind it. Prior HFT or prop trading experience is a strong advantage, but not a hard requirement for exceptional engineers coming from adjacent fields like networking, gaming, or other real-time systems.

You'll need strong modern C++ (C++17 or later), commercial experience in low latency or performance critical systems, and a solid grip on multithreading, memory management, and systems level performance tuning, alongside a solid Linux background and familiarity with networking protocols.

Compensation: up to $700k TC (as always, this is negotiable).
