Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Physician Assistant to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations for Veterans applying for VA benefits in the United States. The role focuses on reviewing records, focused physicals, and objective medical opinions to aid disability determinations.

This is not a treatment position and does not involve prescribing or ongoing patient management. Location is Trenton, NJ with about 10% travel to support other Loyal Source clinics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Physician Associate program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Active, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license. Candidate must not be barred from practicing in any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. commonwealth, territory, or possession.
• Minimum of one year of experience working as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including required renewals.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including use of MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, web-based platforms, and electronic medical records systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain requirements specific to federal contractors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA training requirements, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
• Support other Loyal Source clinics as needed, with approximately 10% travel.
