Job summary

Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an Application Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications in a collaborative IT environment. The role emphasizes workflow, system-to-system integrations, and data solutions, with strong C# expertise and SQL proficiency.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with .NET, REST APIs, Azure services, and low-code tools such as Power Apps or Workato.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years software development experience.
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in C#, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.
• Languages & Frameworks: C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework, Blazor, Razor, MVC
• Databases: SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning), Entity Framework Core, Dapper
• Cloud & DevOps: Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database, Storage, Key Vault, Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines, ADF, Service Bus
• Web Services: REST APIs, ASP.NET Web API, SOAP
• Version Control: Git (Azure DevOps)
• Tools & Platforms: SSRS, SSIS, Auth0, SendGrid, Power Platform
• Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Security standards and patterns knowledge.
• Familiarity with Workato and Power Apps is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services/DevOps is a plus.
• Familiarity with Power BI reporting and dashboards is a plus
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration ability.
• Familiar with P&C insurance operations is a plus.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong planning and time management; able to prioritize.
• SDLC and agile methodologies knowledge.
• Goal oriented; proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C#, Workato or Power Apps.
• Work on low code solutions: Power Automate/Workato.
• Build and maintain integrations to 3rd party systems using REST APIs, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, ETL pipelines with SQL data structures.
• Collaborate with IT Leads to design and maintain technical solutions.
• Participate in requirements analysis with IT Business Analysts and stakeholders.
• Contribute to code reviews and SDLC validation.
• Manage enhancements, incidents, and problems for technical solutions.
• Work independently on low to mid-complexity projects; guidance on complex projects.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve IT operations.
• Coordinate code and data migrations based on project schedules (possible after hours).
• Stay current with industry trends related to C#, .NET, and SQL.
• Consider cyber risk when building application solutions.
