Job Description

Position Summary:

Class C Lineman is an entry-level position involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. The role requires working at various locations and may include travel to other states based on customer demands.

Essential Functions

• Perform safe construction, maintenance, or repair work on energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• String overhead wire, set poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Replace fuses in transformers and clear faulted circuits.
• Work with energized high voltage systems, requiring caution and skill.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of voltage identification, induced voltage, and grounding procedures.
• Capable of assisting with transformer installation, pole setting, and working with various structures.
• Willing to travel long distances and work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Possession or ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Requires talking, hearing, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Exposure to fumes, mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise levels is common.
