Qualifications

CAMS Renewable Services LLC is seeking a Solar Technician I with expertise in electrical systems for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar. This role involves troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining solar installations across multiple sites in Central California. Candidates should have a strong safety mindset, excellent work ethic, and effective communication skills.

This position requires a mix of field and office-based work, with occasional travel and the ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Essential Duties and Skills
  • Responsible for assisting with preventative and corrective maintenance of Photovoltaic (PV) inverters, combiner boxes, solar panels, and other components.
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance of Battery Storage (BESS) units and MV interconnections.
  • Able to assist with replacing/installing hardware, PV modules, inverters, monitoring equipment, and any other component within the solar site.
  • Assist with commissioning of equipment depending on degree of maintenance needed.
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
  • Understand the requirements for LOTO and to wear appropriate arc flash PPE required for the system being worked on.
  • Assist with preparing reports to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts.
  • In the performance of your duties, use equipment and resources in accordance with instructions provided by the company.
  • Maintain adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Carry out any other tasks delegated by the company.
  • Must have flexibility to work during weekends and always be available on call. Occasional night shift work required.
  • Attend training sessions on equipment as provided by the manufacturer and approved by the manager.
  • Work alone outdoors, potentially in extreme weather conditions.
  • Conduct routine site inspections for security, cleanliness, and note deficiencies.
  • Assist with Substation and Medium Voltage Equipment Inspections.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and possibly in awkward positions for extended periods.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years experience in PV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to qualify per NESC, NEC, NFPA 70E standards to work up to Medium Voltage (MV).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, move safely in confined spaces, and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Must commute daily to project sites in Central CA.
Other Desirable Skills / Experience
  • CA electrical license is desired but not required.
  • First Aid / CPR Certification.
  • Fall Protection Certification.
  • NFPA 70E Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Certification.
