Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • 1 year of radiology experience preferred.
  • ARRT registered or eligible.

Job Summary

Location: Nebraska Methodist Hospital

Address: 8303 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE

Work Schedule: This is a casual/PRN position. Casual/PRN employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business. Work days/hours will often vary from week to week.

Assists the physicians with performing various procedures within Surgery and Fluoro.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
  • Provides care for the optimal patient experience.
  • Actively looks for ways to help people to optimize the customer experience.
  • Communicates effectively with empathy, compassion, and respect.
  • Gives full attention to what others are saying, asks questions to understand points being made.
  • Provides appropriate patient care as outlined in the "Age specific criteria" and ensures patient comfort and understanding of exams.
  • Shows confidence and competency in all age-specific categories.
  • Performs exams, assists in surgeries, ensures visualization of anatomy, prepares procedures, and responds promptly to pages.
  • Maintains knowledge of systems like RIS, Cerner, NAIcare, PACS, Powerchart, and Powerscribe.
  • Ensures proper documentation, equipment disinfection, and supply management.
  • Maintains positive relationships with team members, supports department workflow, and provides on-the-job training to students.
  • Follows department policies and demonstrates professional standards.
Schedule

This is a casual/PRN position. Work days/hours will often vary from week to week.

Job Requirements
Education
  • Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Participation in mandatory inservices and continuing education as required.
Experience
  • 1 year radiology experience preferred.
License/Certifications
  • ARRT registered or eligible.
  • Current license from Nebraska or Iowa Department of Health.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Proficiency in C-Arm use during surgeries.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills for exposure factors.
  • Ability to supervise, delegate, evaluate, and multitask with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical activities including climbing, crawling, sitting, balancing, lifting, reaching, and standing.
  • Constantly performing hearing, visual, speaking, standing, and walking activities.
Job Hazards
  • Potential exposure to chemical, biological, physical hazards, radiation, and equipment-related risks.
