Job summary

Coulson Aviation in Thermal, CA seeks an experienced C-130 Crew Chief to lead maintenance teams, ensure safety and airworthiness, and manage parts and records. The role includes supervising personnel, coordinating with Control and Stores, and performing final certifying inspections under FAA authority.

Ideal candidates have a current FAA A&P, heavy aircraft experience, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of Crew Chief experience in heavy aircraft maintenance.
• Experience leading aircraft-maintenance personnel in a maintenance/RO facility or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and approved data.
• Valid driver’s license and travel ability (domestic/international).
• Ability to obtain CDL Class A for truck/trailer operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise maintenance personnel on the aircraft; provide direction and training.
• Ensure maintenance is performed safely per FAA, manuals, and data.
• Perform final inspections and approve return to service under FAA authority.
• Review materials and ensure proper identification and storage per standards.
• Coordinate parts availability with Maintenance Control and Stores.
• Manage inventory, work orders, and related maintenance activities in Corridor.
• Plan parts provisioning to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Troubleshoot complex systems and oversee post-maintenance checks.
• Maintain records, logs, and calibration of tools and equipment.
• Promote safe, organized, professional work environment.
