Slayden Constructors Inc. (SCI), a subsidiary of MWH Constructors, Inc., seeks a Construction-Focused Intern to support our Oregon and Washington projects. Roles include Project Engineer, Field Engineer, VDC Engineer, Safety, Estimating, and Construction Finance.

Locations include Portland, Estacada, Klamath Falls, Medford, Grants Pass, Springfield, and Salem. Essential duties cover project controls, RFIs, look-ahead schedules, document control, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering or related field.
• Interest in a career in heavy construction.
• Strong writing and communication skills; able to work with diverse teams.
• Experience with/con aptitude for construction and/or mechanical processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project controls, change orders, RFIs and construction administration duties.
• Prepare look ahead schedules with input from subcontractors.
• Generate reports (submittal/RFI logs) and manage document control.
• Process submittals and RFIs.
• Update drawings with RFIs and changes; maintain current information.
• Perform simple calculations and provide technical support.
• Contact vendors for information.
• Follow health and safety guidelines.

Essential Functions

• Assist with project controls, change orders, RFI's, and other construction administration duties.
• Prepare look ahead schedules with information from subcontractors.
• Assist in generation of various reports such as submittal and RFI logs, and with document control.
• Process Submittals and RFI's.
• Update working drawings with RFI's and changes. Keep this set up to date to ensure the team is working with the most current information.
• Preform simple calculations.
• Provide technical support for construction efforts.
• Contact vendors for information.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.

Basic Qualifications

• In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related degree.
• Interest in a career in heavy construction.
• Experienced with complete Microsoft Office Suite, excellent writing and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
• Experience with/aptitude for construction and/or mechanical processes.

Salary Range

• $24-26/hour
