Job summary

Ludlow Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a 1st shift laser cutting operator to set up and run laser cutters and to produce parts that meet customer specifications. You will follow prints and traveler requirements, monitor cutting performance, and ensure quality standards are met.

You will read calipers, use hand tools, and perform routine maintenance while assisting with material handling and machine troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser cutting machines per prints and travelers.
• Ability to read calipers and use hand tools.
• Must set up machines with correct gases, nozzles, and materials.
• Must diagnose machine issues and correct them.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser cutting machines to meet customer quality requirements.
• Process parts according to print and traveler specifications and monitor performance.
• Read calipers and use hand tools to verify dimensions.
• Diagnose machine problems and perform corrections as needed.
• Operate forklift to load and unload materials.

1st shift 5:00am - 3:30PM Monday - Thursday

Responsible for set-up and operation of laser cutting machines to produce products meeting customer quality requirements. Must also operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements and monitor machine cutting performance and utilization.

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

• Understands Machine setup including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials.
• Operate machine to produce parts per specification.
• Understands startup and proper shut down of machine.
• Diagnose machine problems while performing jobs and make corrections as needed.
• Operate Lift trucks to load and unload materials.
• Ability to read calipers and hand tools.
• Monitor quality of cutting condition and adjust as needed.
• Perform Operator maintenance per established schedules.
