Job summary

MLC Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd Shift Laser Operator in Spring Lake, MI. You will operate Bystronic laser cutting machines, load raw materials, and ensure high-quality parts while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is full-time on 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) with benefits including health, dental, vision insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser cutting equipment; Bystronic experience preferred.
• Ability to read work orders and part drawings.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines and systems with auto loaders.
• Load and unload raw sheet metal materials.
• Monitor machine performance for quality and efficiency.
• Adjust machine settings for optimal cut quality (speed, focus, gas).
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, burrs, and defects.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on laser equipment.
• Remove cut parts from sheets and assist with breakout as needed.
• Sort, stack, and label finished parts per job requirements.
• Manage scrap material and keep work area clean and organized.
• Collaborate with other operators to keep machines running smoothly.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• Good attendance and reliability are a must
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
