Job Title: General Manager
Location: Manheim, PA
Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00
Overview: The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing daily operations at a quarry. The General Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and overall financial performance of Byler Quarries' stone crushing and hot mix asphalt operations.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and hire employees following company policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, training, development, and supervision to staff.
- Assign daily work tasks, ensuring proper training and equipment are in place.
- Manage employee performance, including training, discipline, and termination.
- Conduct performance reviews, communicate expectations, and provide feedback to optimize productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a safe work environment by promoting safety, environmental, and quality improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental policies, and regulatory requirements, including MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and local, state, federal regulations.
- Monitor financials, analyze costs, and manage budgets effectively.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, ensuring quality and service excellence.
- Serve as liaison with regulatory inspectors and manage site permits.
- Handle confidential information professionally and restrict discussions to 'need to know.'
- Ensure production schedules are met with adequately equipped staff.
- Oversee P&L responsibilities, including capital expenditures and budgeting.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and sales teams to foster a positive workplace culture and growth.
- Coordinate with maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping for permits and compliance documentation.
- Focus on waste reduction initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Seven years of mining experience, with at least three years in supervision.
- Five or more years in surface aggregate mining, processing, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of stone mining equipment, drilling, blasting, and procedures.
- Strong commitment to safety policies, MSHA compliance, and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct, TAC Insight, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
