Job summary

  • Training or certification in special education or English as a Second Language (ESL).
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques and classroom management strategies.
  • Experience integrating technology into lesson plans to enhance student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Provide engaging and effective instruction in the assigned subject area(s) to students with diverse skills.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance through assignments, exams, and observations, providing timely feedback.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about the student's progress and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to develop and improve teaching strategies and school programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up to date with best practices and educational standards.
  • Manage classroom behavior constructively to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
