Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Remote Pilot in Command to lead UAS operations across VLOS, BVLOS, and DIAB missions in field environments. You will assess weather, airspace, and terrain, coordinate with field teams, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

The role requires a Part 107 certificate, 2+ years of operational UAS experience, and strong communication skills to interface with stakeholders and regulators in dynamic utility and infrastructure contexts.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of UAS/aviation/operational experience
• Experience in field ops in industrial or critical infrastructure settings
• Ability to follow procedures, safety standards, and regs
• Experience with mission planning, risk assessment, and docs
• Ability to maintain situational awareness across assets and conditions
• Experience overseeing multiple UAS units where allowed
• Ability to work independently in remote environments
• Strong communication skills across stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Serve as Remote Pilot in Command with final authority for flight safety and compliance
• Plan, coordinate, and execute VLOS, BVLOS, and DIAB missions under procedures and waivers
• Conduct pre-flight assessments of weather, airspace, terrain, hazards, and aircraft status
• Perform infrastructure inspections and mission data management
• Monitor operations and adjust missions when risk becomes unacceptable
• Coordinate with field ops, system operators, observers, and stakeholders
• Capture, verify, and manage imagery, telemetry, and data with chain-of-custody
• Complete pre-flight and post-flight records, logs, and incident reports
• Inspect and safeguard aircraft, sensors, batteries, and field equipment
• Support mission coordination by aligning field logistics and constraints
• Interact with regulators and public; provide feedback for process improvements
