Is your passion inspired by invention? Is problem solving through teamwork in your DNA? Do you like the idea of seeing how your work affects the bigger picture? Answer yes to any of these and you will fit right in here at Amazon Robotics (AR). We are a smart team of doers that work passionately to apply innovative advances in robotics and software to solve real‑world challenges that will transform our customers’ experiences in ways we cannot even imagine yet. We invent new improvements every day. We are Amazon Robotics and we will give you the tools and support you need to invent with us in ways that are rewarding, fulfilling and fun.
The Robotics Supply Chain organization sources a portfolio of robotics technology and is responsible for getting the right materials to the right place at the right time to support our network of global fulfillment and transportation solutions. It is an operation that works cross‑functionally with teams across Amazon globally and is driven by data and metrics. The Supply Chain team is seeking an experienced Buying and Supplier Manager to manage the timely and efficient material delivery to AR sites by mitigating supply risks and addressing supply chain constraints. This role will support supplier performance management, supplier relationship management, purchase order execution, and escalation resolution.
The Buying and Supplier Manager will drive operational excellence through robust vendor management and performance frameworks—ensuring suppliers meet delivery, quality, and cost targets while proactively addressing risks and implementing corrective actions. The role will also lead the deployment of tools and systems that automate procurement workflows and enable real‑time supplier performance monitoring, improving efficiency, visibility, and accountability across the supply base.
This role requires strong cross‑functional collaboration and data‑driven approach to scale procurement operations, enhance supplier reliability, and support the growing needs of Amazon’s Robotics Supply Chain.
Your morning begins reviewing supply risk dashboards and delivery status updates for robotics components being shipped to manufacturing plants as well as directly to fulfillment sites. You spot a potential delay from a key component supplier and quickly jump on a call with their core operational team—and sometimes their executives—to work through solutions and secure an expedited delivery plan. Throughout the day, you’re monitoring supply chain risks, managing direct shipments to sites, and collaborating with teams across engineering, operations, and logistics. When a material shortage threatens a site launch, you bring stakeholders together to identify alternatives and work with suppliers—including at the executive level—to negotiate solutions and secure backup capacity. You’re also working to automate tactical procurement tasks, allowing you to focus more on monitoring at‑risk items and developing proactive mitigation strategies with vendors. You spend time analyzing supplier performance data, handling escalations, and keeping everyone informed of supply chain risks. Periodically, you visit vendors on‑site to strengthen relationships, engage with their leadership teams, and work through long‑term supply chain improvements face‑to‑face. As the role evolves, you’ll shift from hands‑on tactical execution to strategic oversight—monitoring risk indicators, collaborating with suppliers and their executives on preventive solutions, and building sustainable supply chain frameworks for the future.
