Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a detail-oriented team member to assist the Purchasing group with confirming purchase orders, invoicing customers, and processing drop ships. You will interact with customers, vendors, and a wide range of company personnel to ensure accurate, timely fulfillment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 6–12 months of procurement, warehouse, or administrative experience.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; 6–12 months procurement/warehouse/administrative experience preferred.
• Ability to process purchase orders, invoicing, and drop ships with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Purchasing by confirming all purchase orders and invoicing customers.
• Prepare orders to be dropped shipped directly to customers.
• File all special orders and assist in pricing and sourcing products.
• Communicate with customers, vendors and internal teams in a timely and professional manner.
• Interface with management, warehouse, Accounting, Customer Service and other Purchasing personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:

Responsible for assisting personnel within Purchasing confirming all purchase orders, invoicing customers and processing drop ships. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and wide range of company personnel in a positive and proactive manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Responsible for assisting personnel within Purchasing confirming all purchase orders, invoicing customers and processing drop ships.
• Prepare orders to be dropped ship directly to customers.
• File all special orders.
• Assist in pricing and sourcing products based on product merchandising knowledge.
• Communicate and interact with customers, vendors and company personnel in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensuring that customers’ and vendors’ questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Interface with management, warehouse personnel, and the Accounting, Multi-Unit Accounts, Customer Service, Transportation, and Information Services, in-house freight traffic management personnel, Vice President, Purchasing, and other Purchasing personnel.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
