Job summary

JEGS Performance is seeking a Senior Buyer to evaluate new products, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships for high‑performance automotive parts. The role focuses on building a strong catalog and competitive pricing while ensuring on‑time delivery.

The ideal candidate has at least four years in automotive purchasing, knows how to forecast demand, and can collaborate with accounting, marketing and distribution. Some travel is expected, with a hybrid on-site Delaware location.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of purchasing experience in the automotive high-performance market.
• History of establishing professional partnerships with vendors.
• Strong time-management in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new products from vendors; negotiate pricing, terms, freight, stock adjustments and rebates.
• Grow sales through correct product assortment, pricing, availability and marketing programs.
• Catalog and web merchandising; maintain supplier relationships and account lines.
• Place P.O.s and manage inventory to maximize order fill and turnover.
• Monitor vendor performance for quality and accurate product descriptions.
• Analyze, forecast and interpret consumer trends.
• Collaborate with accounting, marketing, distribution and management.
• Minimal travel required.

Job Summary:

• Evaluate new products from both new and existing vendors; negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight, stock adjustments, allowances/rebates, etc.
• Ability to grow sales in his/her assigned categories through maintaining the correct product assortment, competitive pricing, timely availability and creative marketing programs.
• Catalog and web merchandising.
• Maintain current supplier relationships and account lines
• Place P.O.’s, and control inventory to maximize customer order fill and inventory turnover.
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, correct product descriptions, and cross-reference maintenance.
• Analyze, forecast and interpret consumer behavioral trends.
• Interact internally with accounting, marketing, distribution and management associates.
• Minimal travel required

You have:

• Minimum of 4 years of purchasing/sales experience in the automotive market for high-performance parts and accessories.
• A personal passion and strong knowledge of high performance.
• History of establishing a professional partnership with vendors and creating an attitude of mutual respect.
• Ability to influence discussions both internally and externally with our vendors.
• Experience with the vendor line review process of product selection.
• Strong time-management skills; experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
