JOB OVERVIEW

The Buyer/Purchaser II’s role is r esponsible for creating and implementing purchasing strategies to support productivity and working capital objectives for the assigned product category.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in analyzing specifications, quality, quantity, and delivery requirements for assigned product categories; identify potential supply sources and provide recommendations.

  • Supports the development of short and long-term purchasing strategies to optimize supply base and reduce costs under supervision.

  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with suppliers and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Participates in negotiating supplier contracts and support cost control efforts by gathering and preparing relevant data.

  • Prepares and issues quotations in line with purchasing policies and ensure purchase transactions meet basic requirements.

  • Contributes to sourcing strategy discussions and assists in analyzing risks related to spending.

  • Monitors site inventory levels and helps track product rejects and chargebacks, escalating issues when necessary.

  • Attends daily cross-functional team meetings, supports parts flow processes, and assists in resolving supplier issues as directed.

  • Evaluates suppliers based on established criteria and collects performance data; assists in quarterly supplier scorecard reviews.

  • Stays informed about economic and business conditions affecting procurement; provides updates to senior team members.

  • Participates in cross-functional projects such as cost-reduction initiatives, under the guidance of senior staff.

  • Prepares basic reports and value analyses.

  • Performs other procurement duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain or similar work environment

  • Any combination of education, training or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to source required manufacturing parts effectively

  • Ability to evaluate vendors for quality and on-time delivery

  • Possesses effective communication skills for internal and external customers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

With or without reasonable accommodation minimal time will be spent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching. Sometime will be spent standing, sitting, talking, and hearing, and using hands to handle, feel and reach. At times up to 50 pounds will need to be lifted. Good hearing and manual dexterity are essential for safely performing tasks and ensuring product quality. Vision requirements are the ability to adjust focus and identify and distinguish colors. Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals. Sometime will be spent working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate (examples: business offices with computers and printers).

The work environment for this role is in a manufacturing facility with machinery, tools, and materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Noise levels can be high, and tasks may involve lifting or moving parts.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $68,816.00 - $72,864.00
