Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Planning Buyer to support Procurement through data management, reporting, and cost coordination. The role emphasizes strong communication, data interpretation, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires an undergraduate degree in Business or Supply Chain, proficiency in MS Office, ERP experience, and familiarity with audits (ISO/IATF). All positions are full-time on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal data and regular reporting (e.g., weekly inventory/shortage, monthly RM Forecast, Cost Per Wafer).
• Cost owner for Procurement; track/manage/analyze CoEn; prepare monthly analysis & Exec CoEn presentation.
• Support data requests and adhoc analyses for DS Procurement.
• Coordinate SOP/certification processes across Procurement.
• Support software and system upgrades (e.g., GSRM to NSRM) and new programs.
• Lead project management for team-wide improvements.
• Support audit and compliance management (internal, external, ISO, etc.).

Position Summary

The Planning Buyer supports Procurement team compliance, analysis and management efforts through data management and analysis, reporting, presentation support, internal audit/SOP compliance support, cost management coordination, continuous improvement projects and other initiatives. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interpret and present information in a fast-paced, complex environment. Coding and database management skills are a plus.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Internal data maintenance and regular reporting (ex. weekly days of inventory/shortage reporting, monthly RM Forecast report card, Cost Per Wafer reports, etc.)
• Cost owner for Procurement function across all teams; track/manage/analyze CoEn activity, report out regularly, prepare monthly analysis summary + Exec CoEn presentation, etc.
• Support internal and external requests for data and analysis, including adhoc request from DS Procurement.
• Coordinate SOP/certification process across Procurement.
• Support development and implementation of software, systems upgrades (ex. GSRM to NSRM), new programs (ex. MATS) and other systems-based improvements.
• Project management for team-wide improvements.
• Supper audit and compliance management for internal, external, RBA, ISO, etc.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Undergraduate degree in Business/Supply Chain Management (ideal); Chemical/Mechanical/Material Engineering, or other related field.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) with a background in ERP/inventory management and data-management/coding.
• ISO/IATF audit and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication (verbal & written), data analysis, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

The current base salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $107,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
