Job summary

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is seeking a Buyer to manage assigned categories, develop sourcing strategies, and lead end-to-end procurement activities. You will collaborate with multiple departments to determine optimal solutions and drive cost savings while ensuring supplier performance and compliance.

Responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Procurement or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba procurement system preferred.
  • Ability to perform analysis for supplier contracts and develop category plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with diverse teams.

  • Manage end-to-end procurement: sourcing, bid analysis, supplier selection, and PO issuance.
  • Develop strategies, cost-saving initiatives, and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify best solutions for requirements.
  • Present recommendations to stakeholders and secure approvals.
  • Issue purchase orders and track supplier performance and on-time delivery.
  • Conduct supplier visits/reviews to understand processes and new developments.
  • Negotiate using RFPs, market tests, and cost models.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and uphold safety and attendance policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Buyer is to manage the assigned categories and develop comprehensive strategies that documents sourcing approaches, preferred suppliers, purchasing, and cost and supplier quality performances.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Manage the end-to-end supplier procurement process through requirements gathering, sourcing, bid analysis, development of strategies, recommendation, supplier selection, purchase requisitions, supplier catalogs, invoice reconciliations, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis to ensure best-in-class sourcing, pricing, and cost savings based on total cost of ownership.
  • Partner with departments to understand business needs and to determine which solution(s) work best for their specific requirements.
  • Summarize and present recommendations to key stakeholders by applying category knowledge as appropriate.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers on prompt shipments at the correct quality and cost levels.
  • Visit suppliers and/or lead supplier reviews regularly to understand manufacturing processes and new developments.
  • Excel in supplier and contract negotiations using multiple approaches such as RFP’s, market tests, and bid cost models.
  • Collaborate and grow stakeholder relationships via problem solving and value-add results.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Procurement or similar field preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba procurement system preferred.
  • Ability to perform analysis for supplier contracts, develop long range category plans, perform continuous improvement activities, recommend and establish inventory levels, and present project reports to senior management.
  • Knowledge of financial and cost management, PO management, and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is essential for this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
