Apply locations Ann Arbor, MI, United States of America time type Full time posted on Posted 3 Days Ago job requisition id R35652 As the Buyer/Planner, you will appraise and improve the sourcing activities for the assigned area of responsibility by analyzing the company's spending, supplying partnerships, and evaluating new possibilities.

This is an onsite position at our Ann Arbor, MI location.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Maintain positive relationships with key vendors that deliver benefits to all parties
  • Organize existing supply base
  • Analyze and modify material master data to adequately meet demand while reducing risk
  • Work closely with Product Development and Quality to improve the quality level of procured materials and services
  • Process RFQs, purchase requisitions, POs, order confirmations, etc.
  • Build strong rapport with key suppliers
  • Identify and Implement actions in the area of risk management for the range of products
  • Assist Quality in supplier audits
  • Backfill for Purchasing Manager as needed
  • Responsible for following all company policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements, including Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Process RFQs, purchase requisitions, POs, and order confirmations
  • Evaluate and adjust Purchase/Planned Orders to meet Production Demand daily
  • Work closely with Production Planning to provide feedback when inventory demand will not be met
  • Update SAP with current information on incoming POs
  • Work with SCM on intercompany raw inventory needs and approval to ship
  • Responsible for following all company policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements, including Health and Safety rules and regulations.

What will convince us:

  • Associate's degree in business administration or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant working experience
  • Proven knowledge in the area of Purchasing
  • Proven software skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, ERP (SAP) systems

Proven buyer's experience in at least two of the following disciplines:

  • Electronics
  • Mechanical Devices (medical preferred)
  • Optics
  • Micro Fluidics
  • Computers/memory (Hard Drives, RAM, Processors, etc.)
  • Motion Control Products (motors, Linear Rails, etc.)
  • Understanding of Reach Rohs compliance
