Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Billerica, MA, is seeking a highly organized Senior Buyer/Planner to join the Materials department and manage purchasing to meet cost, quality and delivery targets, supporting defense and commercial programs. You will source components, coordinate supplier scheduling, generate POs and requisitions, track on-time delivery, perform cost analyses, and work with the Sr.

Planner to optimize production and SAP data integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Degree/GED required, BA or BS degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in either a buyer/planner role or a procurement/materials sourcing role
• SAP experience preferred, strong working knowledge of MS Office
• Problem solving skills in relation to sourcing issues in order to support production requirements
• Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional and team-based approach to problem solving with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in a high tech manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience sourcing precision machined parts and familiarity with different machining methods (CNC, mill, lathe, swiss, turning and machining suppliers)
• Familiarity with injection molding, and sourcing optical components
• Strong communication, negotiating, organizational skills
• Self-motivated, ability to work both independently and within a team
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people professionally

• Create production orders through the production cycle
• Work closely with Sr. Planner to evaluate production for assigned products
• Evaluate and track completion dates for completed systems to maintain on-time customer deliveries
• Ensure accuracy of data in SAP and data entry as required
• Assist in shipping and/or receiving functions as a secondary activity

Job Summary

The Teledyne FLIR Billerica operation is a leading manufacturer of Surveillance Systems. Our products are vital components in the defense, high end commercial, and commercial industries. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Senior Buyer/Planner to join the Materials department. The Senior Buyer/Planner will purchase goods, materials, and components in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.

Salary

#FLIR Salary Range: $96,600.00-$128,800.000 The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
