Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Buyer/Planner in Urbana, OH to lead procurement strategy and align purchasing with organizational goals. This contract role focuses on cost-effectiveness, quality, and supplier diversity within a national aerospace and defense staffing context.

You will manage complex procurement projects, guide a team of buyers and coordinators, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a reliable supply chain while maintaining compliance and records.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience in procurement and project management.
• Deep knowledge of procurement strategies, sourcing, and supplier management.
• Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred in business or supply chain.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset for procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee complex procurement projects from initiation to completion, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and delivery.
• Provide guidance to a team of procurement professionals including buyers, purchasing agents, and coordinators for successful execution of procurement projects.
• Foster and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure a reliable and responsive supply chain.
• Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations, compliance standards, and internal policies with accurate record keeping.
• Establish and enforce quality control standards in procurement processes through regular inspections and performance assessments.
• Leverage technology solutions such as procurement software and analytics to enhance procurement processes, monitoring, and reporting.
• Manage and execute organization's procurement and purchasing activities at a strategic level.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.

• Preferred: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset for procurement processes.
