Job summary

Moog in Johnson City, Tennessee is seeking a Buyer/Planner to join the Space & Defense Group. This onsite role reports to the Site Manager and focuses on sourcing, procurement, and inventory planning to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has significant procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. You will analyze market trends, manage supplier relationships, and oversee material availability for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of procurement/supply chain experience or associate with 9 years
• Manufacturing environment procurement/planning experience required
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and market trends
• Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure best pricing and terms
• Analyze market trends to make data-driven purchasing decisions
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure inventory meets operational needs
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and oversee contract management
• Review MRP requirements and inventory on hand balances to ensure material availability using ERP systems
• Review and understand blueprints, material specifications and engineering specifications
• Log & Manage Sales Purchase Orders and LRP inventories
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support business operations

Work Schedule: Onsite - Johnson City, TN Buyer/Planner

Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join them. You will report to the Site Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee.

To be considered for Buyer/Planner, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of procurement/supply chain experience or an associate's degree with 9 years of procurement/supply chain experience or high school diploma/equivalent with 13 years of related experience.
• Proven experience in planning, procurement, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Analytical mindset with an ability to interpret data and market trends
• Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management

As a Buyer/Planner, you will:

• Ensure cost-effectiveness and quality in all purchasing activities
• Review MRP requirements and inventory on hand balances to ensure material availability. You will also use ERP computer system to manage inventory requirements.
• Review and understand blueprints, material specifications and engineering specifications
• Log & Manage Sales Purchase Orders and LRP inventories
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support business operations

Salary Range Transparency:

Johnson City, TN $65,000.00-$80,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
