Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct manufacturing activities to ensure product availability and customer service.
  • Maintain safe, sanitary working conditions and adhere to all safety policies.
  • Oversee MRP and Kanban, manage inventory levels and lead-time reductions.
  • Review planning data, kanban levels, and perform audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Lead process improvement projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Train staff on procedures and document processes.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct manufacturing activities to ensure a high level of product availability and customer service
  • Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies
  • Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility
  • Know and understand your OSHA rights
  • Conduct safety training topics as required or needed
  • Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions
  • Promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes
  • Manage both MRP and Kanban requirements and distribute and maintain manufacturing orders
  • Handle inquiries or expedited delivery for assigned products
  • Respond to requests in a timely manner and follow through on commitments
  • Manage component inventory levels and finished goods inventory through performance monitoring and implement lead-time reduction opportunities
  • Regularly review planning data and kanban levels
  • Maintain all system Planning Data for assigned items
  • Help ensure inventory accuracy
  • Conduct kanban and inventory audits
  • Assist Production Personnel in identifying and correcting problems found
  • Work closely with supervisors and management to determine production priorities, overtime requirements, and capacity or component issues
  • Help develop and maintain appropriate measurements of above
  • Continually work to improve performance and material flow by identifying root causes of problems and solving using process improvement techniques
  • Participate in and lead Process Improvement activities
  • Develop and implement solutions working with manufacturing supervisors, Buyers, Engineering, Management, Customer Care, and hourly personnel as appropriate
  • Assist with process and procedure documentation, and training of salaried and hourly personnel
  • Complete or help coordinate other related, supporting projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in Materials Management in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications required
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (kanban, “pull”, etc.) preferred
  • Good organizational, analytical problem solving, and communication skills required
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Must be responsible and self‑motivated
  • Willing to work extra hours as project or production needs dictate
