Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a procurement professional to run daily MRP summaries, execute purchase orders, and manage requisitions and supplier performance. You will collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers to ensure supply readiness for production and NPI projects.

The role emphasizes cost-effective inventory, demand forecasting, and adherence to supplier agreements, with opportunities to interact with Global Commodity Managers and Procurement Supervisors.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings and evaluate supplier capability.
• Global sourcing experience with electronic components.
• Strong supplier negotiation and analytical skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Oracle preferred.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Run daily MRP summary reports on and execute purchase orders in conjunction with buy messages.
• Manage and maintain purchase requisitions, quotes, etc.
• Escalate and action shortages / potential shortages as they occur.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and order books for production and NPI projects.
• Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.
• Deliver on KPI measures: supplier on-time delivery, inventory targets, SOX compliance.

• Escalate and action shortages / potential shortages as and when they occur.
• Managing delivery schedule & order book of components for production, engineering and NPI Projects to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
• Calculating and distributing demand forecasts to supply base.
• Compilation of supplier performance reports; management of supplier base including negotiating favorable pricing arrangements, lead-time reductions, financial liability, Kanban agreements, etc.
• Ensuring suppliers adhere & perform to Supply Agreement terms & conditions.
• Interacting closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Coordinating with engineering departments on New Product Introductions, ensuring supply base and Operations requirements are met.
• Ensuring that new suppliers are vetted appropriately following Coherent Corp. process
• Responsibility for procurement business system data input and integrity, & management of relevant item attributes,

Education & Experience

• Global Sourcing Experience with electronic components.

Skills

• Demonstrated supplier negotiation, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated analytical ability and detail orientation.
• Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems, Oracle preferred.
• High Level Microsoft Office experience, advanced Excel and PowerPoint Presentation Skills
• Willingness to present to direct Supervisor & Sr. Management
