Job summary

Siemens in Grand Prairie, Texas is seeking a Buyer to ensure raw material availability for the fabrication area to meet customer orders on time, while optimizing cost. The role involves managing MRP through SAP, coordinating purchases, and improving inventory accuracy.

You will collaborate with production, planning and customer service, follow up with vendors, and support cycle counts to maintain inventory targets and on-time delivery. A BS/BA and 3–5 years of purchasing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing with MRP.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; able to forecast and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Manages MRP via SAP and places Purchase Orders with internal and external vendors.
• Reviews SAP master data including minimum order quantities, safety stocks, lead times, purchasing info records; provides forecasting as needed.
• Responsible for meeting inventory targets, delivery reliability and cost-saving initiatives for the site.
• GRIR discrepancies and late purchase order processing; resolves issues promptly.
• Collaborates with production, planning and customer service to fulfill customer requirements.
• Supports cycle count material quarter counts.
• Follow up with vendors for confirmation of shipment dates and pricing.

Siemens is looking for a Buyer to join their team in Grand Prairie, Texas Breaker plant.

The position is responsible to ensure raw material availability for our fabrication area to be able to meet customer orders on time in the most cost-effective way to meet our financial targets as well. It also supports and drives actions to improve raw material accuracy.

You will make an impact by:

• Manages MRP via SAP and placed Purchase Orders with internal and external vendors
• Reviews SAP master data including minimum order quantities, safety stocks, lead times, purchasing info records and provide forecasting as needed, etc.
• Responsible for meeting the inventory targets, delivery reliability and cost saving initiatives for the site.
• GRIR (good receipts/invoice receipts) discrepancies and late purchase order processing.
• Works closely with production, planning and customer service to fulfill the customer requirements.
• Support cycle count material quarter counts.
• Follow up with vendors for confirmation of shipment dates and pricing.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree although candidates with varying degrees will also be considered based on experience. A combination of education and directly related work experience will also be considered in lieu of a BS degree.
• 3-5 years of purchasing experience with MRP system in manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Skills:

• Advanced hands on knowledge of SAP.
• APICS CSCP and/or CPIM
