Job summary

Siemens Industry’s Electrification & Automation business unit seeks a Buyer to drive material and service procurement for key product lines. You will ensure timely, cost-effective supply and collaborate with teams and suppliers to overcome challenges and improve performance.

The role reports to Knightdale, NC but will be based in Prince George, VA, with a typical in-office 2-3 days and remote 2-3 days schedule, supporting the Prince George facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3–5 years in procurement or supply chain.
• Experience with SAP.
• Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier relationships and manage supply chain performance.
• Generate and manage purchase orders in SAP.
• Proactively resolve material shortages and delivery risks.
• Drive supplier KPIs and on-time delivery.
• Support supplier setup and qualification.
• Ensure compliance with Siemens procurement tools and guidelines.
• Lead non-conformance resolution with quality and engineering teams.
• Support commodity strategy and act as team backup when needed.

Electrification & Automation

The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit provides a full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets. We support today’s power distribution needs while investing in future technologies to build the power grid of tomorrow.

The Prince George facility is a contract manufacturer who will deliver integrated electrical skid assemblies that combine power distribution and power conversion equipment with protection and automation systems. Electrical skids provide outdoor rated, modular, value-add solutions for key vertical markets to improve delivery reliability and lower total cost of ownership for customers. We are located in the heart of the Research Triangle, about 20 minutes east of Raleigh. We are looking for a Buyer. This position will report to the Knightdale, NC office, but will be based in, and support the Prince George, VA location. The typical schedule will be in office 2-3 days, remote 2-3 days.

Position Overview:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years in procurement or supply chain
• Experience with SAP
• Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills - esp. Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with SieOps
• Familiar with MV power distribution equipment
• Customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable
• Self-starter with problem-solving and decision-making skills
