Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts or Social Sciences.
• 2-4 years of experience as a buyer/purchasing.
• Advanced user of Excel Pivot Tables and Microsoft Suite.
• Experience with MRP/ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures standard purchasing procedures are followed.
• Analyze demand patterns, sales trends, and inventory levels to replenish stock.
• Manage inventory across locations, including transfers and shortages resolution.
• Maintain accurate vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages in the database.
• Update inventory maintenance in the software system to aid decision making.
• Collaborate with store teams and operations to prioritize urgent needs and resolve product availability issues.
• Address supplier quality issues and monitor vendor performance to drive improvements.
• Expedite orders for high-impact items and identify alternate sourcing during disruptions.

Daikin Applied is seeking a Buyer II - Stores who is responsible for purchasing and distributing materials, equipment and supplies in accordance with company guidelines in order to satisfy inventory requirements while meeting costing, quality and on-time delivery objectives and measures. What You Will Do

• Ensures that company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of material and services


• Analyze demand patterns, sales trends, and inventory levels across stores to effectively replenish stock and minimize stockouts and excess inventory


• Actively manage inventory across locations, including transfers, rebalancing, and resolution of shortages impacting customer orders


• Follows up and maintains current and accurate database information, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments and shortages


• Updates and maintains inventory maintenance within the software system to assist in decision making


• Partner with store teams, customer service, and operations to prioritize urgent needs and resolve product availability issues


• Address supplier quality issues, monitor vendor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and strengthen supplier relationships


• Support high-impact or critical items by expediting orders, identifying alternate sourcing, and ensuring rapid resolution of supply disruptions

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts or Social Sciences


• 2-4 years of experience as a buyer/purchasing


• Advanced user of Excel Pivot Tables, Microsoft Suite


• Experience working in MRP, ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle)


• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced high volume environment


• Ability to respond with urgency to resolve supply issues and support internal stakeholders


• Travel to stores for store inventory- 2-3 times a year with potential to do more


• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $25.72 - $42.44 an hour in MN. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
