Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and direct material procurement.
  • CPM-Certified Purchasing Manager, CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management, or CPIM-Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase direct materials supporting production operations and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers for material availability and business alignment.
  • Review and negotiate supplier quotes and pricing to achieve best overall value.
  • Manage assigned suppliers and commodities with minimal supervision.
  • Convert planning requirements into purchase orders and manage the full PO lifecycle.
  • Maintain pricing, lead times, and supplier data in the ERP system.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, and service concerns.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and participate in corrective action discussions.
  • Monitor material availability and proactively manage shortages and disruptions.
  • Support sourcing initiatives and cost reduction projects.

Job Title:Buyer II

Job Summary: Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing direct materials that support manufacturing operations and customer demand. This role ensures timely, accurate, and cost-effective procurement while maintaining supplier relationships, supporting inventory objectives, and minimizing supply chain risk.

This role serves as the primary supplier relationship owner for assigned commodities and is responsible for balancing cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and risk to support Kimray's operational and customer commitments.

This position works closely with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to ensure material availability, inventory optimization, supplier performance objectives, and customer service commitments are achieved.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Source and purchase direct materials supporting production operations and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure material availability and business alignment.
  • Review and negotiate supplier quotes and pricing to achieve best overall value.

  • Accurately convert planning requirements into purchase orders and manage the full PO lifecycle.
  • Maintain current pricing, lead times, supplier constraints, and supplier data in the ERP system.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, and service concerns.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and participate in corrective action discussions.
  • Monitor material availability and proactively manage shortages and supply disruptions.
  • Maintain planning and purchasing parameters including lead times, order multiples, and supplier constraints.
  • Recommend actions for supply chain risk mitigation within assigned commodities.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and communicate supplier concerns to stakeholders.
  • Support sourcing initiatives, supplier transitions, and cost reduction projects.
  • Support creation and revision of procurement procedures and work instructions.
  • Train and assist internal stakeholders on purchasing processes and systems.
  • Work collaboratively on cross-functional teams to improve supply chain performance.
  • Adhere to all safety and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of procurement experience, including experience supporting manufacturing or production environments.
  • CPM-Certified Purchasing Manager, CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management, or CPIM-Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and direct material procurement.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Must have critical thinking skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
