Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, MN seeks a Buyer II for a 12-month assignment. The role features hybrid work: onsite 4 days a week with one day remote, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

You will manage purchasing of materials, review pricing and lead times, issue POs, and keep ERP data current to support inventory goals. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years’ experience, or 5+ years without a degree, plus direct materials procurement, SAP/ERP expertise, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of experience in the field is strongly preferred.
• If no bachelor’s degree, candidate would need 5+ years of experience in the field.
• High School diploma required.
• Direct materials purchasing experience required (2-3+ years).
• ERP experience required (SAP is what Abbott uses).
• MS Office experience required.
• Medical Device experience highly preferred.
• Reliable and dependable; once trained, able to work independently.

• Cross functional communication and collaboration with many teams.
• Some possible negotiation on pricing.
