Description

Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are looking for a buyer to join our team to assist with the daily management and continuous improvement of our supply chain. We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated and has great initiative and can accomplish tasks quickly and accurately. Applicant must be able to multi-task successfully, independently or as a team member.

This position is on-site at our Tualatin headquarters and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.

· Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers

· Work with production, scheduling, sales, and design teams to determine the most optimal purchasing strategy for a given job/project.

· Monitor purchase demand and place orders, ensuring order confirmation and report to the organization any due date problems or potential shortages.

· Assist in updating current (and newly developed) Purchasing and Inventory Management procedures and work instructions.

· Manage stock levels, inventory turns, and orders of stocked inventory items.

· Make recommendations on stocking levels and review periodically.

· Set up company and customer part numbers in Epicor.

· Purchase order management and vendor management (selection, evaluation, re-evaluation)

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

· 1-3 years of direct buyer/purchasing work experience required

· Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field highly preferred

· Excited to work in a fast-paced environment

· Must be able to create written procedures and/or work instructions effectively and efficiently using strong writing skills and clean organized writing

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel; Adobe Acrobat and QuickBooks are a plus.

· Accurate typing skills

· Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects is a must

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Focus on cost vs. benefit, minimizing costs/lead times while meeting (often immediate) needs

  • Salary: $45K to $60K based on education/experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
