Job summary

Elbit America, Inc. is seeking a Buyer I (Finance) in Roanoke, VA to evaluate requisitions for custom items, confer with technical personnel on specs, determine best sources of supply, issue PO's, and coordinate material deliveries with suppliers and internal departments to meet government regulations.

Responsibilities include obtaining quotes, reducing costs, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely award of purchase orders aligned with program schedules and metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 0–1 years of experience in a related field.
  • Associate's degree with 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • FAR/DFARS working knowledge.
  • Experience in aerospace, military, or similar industry.
  • Understanding of products, military specifications and federal acquisition regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Determine best sources of supply from knowledge of the supply base, product performance and capabilities.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers negotiating for optimum pricing, quality, delivery schedule and terms.
  • Maintain commodity knowledge and market conditions to reduce component pricing.
  • Establish preferred suppliers to enable cost reduction from suppliers.
  • Coordinate with material planner to identify cost reduction opportunities from planned orders.
  • Award purchase orders on time to support program schedules and inventory turns.
  • Liaise with company and suppliers regarding changes or problems with material deliveries.
  • Coordinate with interfacing departments to complete purchases per regulations.
  • Interact with program management to ensure timely material deliveries for production.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and support leadership scorecard goals.

Responsibilities and tasks:
  • Determine the best sources of supply from knowledge of the supply base, product performance, and capabilities.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers negotiating for optimum pricing, quality, delivery schedule, and terms and conditions
  • Maintain and utilize commodity knowledge and market conditions to reduce component pricing.
