Jobsought is seeking an Inventory/Purchasing Specialist in Jacksonville, FL to manage inventory, review buying guides, and place purchase orders with suppliers. The role requires coordinating with finance and logistics to ensure timely delivery and data accuracy, while supporting inventory optimization initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in purchasing or related fields, a High School Diploma, and availability for a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule. AS400 experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Manage inventory levels for assigned product categories to support demand and DSO.
• Review buying guides and place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring pricing, quantities, freight terms, and delivery dates accuracy.
• Monitor system reports (out-of-stock, over-allocated) and take action to maintain inventory levels.
• Confirm purchase orders and resolve discrepancies in pricing, quantities, freight, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with vendors, finance, and logistics to ensure timely delivery and replenishment.
• Maintain accurate item and vendor data including pricing, freight terms, and product information.
• Communicate regularly with sales on inventory availability, supply issues, and updates.
• Support inventory initiatives to reduce spoilage, shrink, aged inventory, and returns.
• Participate in supplier relationships, vendor selection, sourcing decisions, and occasional pricing discussions.
• Provide exceptional internal and external customer service while supporting purchasing and inventory objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels for assigned product categories to support customer demand while maintaining the lowest practical days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Review buying guides and place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring accuracy of pricing, quantities, freight terms, and delivery dates.
• Monitor system-generated reports, including out-of-stock and over-allocated reports, and take appropriate action to maintain inventory levels.
• Confirm purchase orders and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, freight charges, and delivery schedules.
• Work with vendors, finance teams, and logistics partners to ensure timely product delivery and inventory replenishment.
• Maintain accurate item and vendor data, including pricing, freight terms, shipping points, and product information.
• Communicate regularly with sales teams regarding inventory availability, supply issues, and product updates.
• Assist with inventory management initiatives to reduce spoilage, shrink, aged inventory, and product returns.
• Support supplier relationships and participate in vendor selection, sourcing decisions, and occasional pricing discussions.
• Provide exceptional internal and external customer service while supporting company purchasing and inventory objectives.

Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of purchasing, merchandising, procurement, inventory management, or related business experience.
• Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
• Experience within a retail, wholesale, foodservice, or distribution environment preferred.
• Foodservice distribution experience is a plus.
• Experience with AS400 or other enterprise inventory management systems preferred.
