Job summary

PROENERGY is a global energy transition platform seeking a Purchasing professional to efficiently acquire goods and services and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. The role reports to the Purchasing Manager and is based at the Sedalia, MO facility.

You will manage orders, control costs, collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining procurement records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or 1–3 years' progressive purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of economics and budgeting.
  • Strong negotiation, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • US work authorization; sponsorship not offered.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Source, quote, and place POs for direct manufacturing components and indirect materials and services.
  • Support pricing negotiations with suppliers by volume, delivery, quality, and customer service.
  • Manage and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop, initiate and maintain effective relationships with current and potential suppliers.
  • Maintain procurement records: items purchased, costs, delivery, quality, and inventories.
  • Manage budgets and avoid delay costs including shipping.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance and Program Management.

Position Summary

To purchase goods and services for PROENERGY in an efficient manner following established procedures and in an economic manner through supplier negotiations.

Reports To: Purchasing Manager

Work Location: 2001 Proenergy Blvd., Sedalia, MO 65301

Position Responsibilities
  • Responsible for sourcing, quoting and placement of purchase orders including direct manufacturing components and indirect (non-production) material and services.
  • Support negotiations in pricing with suppliers based on volume, delivery, quality, and customer service.
  • Manage and expedite purchase orders to ensure suppliers meet on time delivery requirements.
  • Develop, initiate, and maintain effective and professional relationships with current and potential suppliers.
  • Maintain procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Must be able to manage budgets and avoid delay costs including shipping.
  • Proactively resolve grievances, warranty claims, quality non-conformance, or delivery issues with suppliers.
  • Ability to interface effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance and Program Management functions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or 1-3 years of progressive purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of economics and budgeting.
  • Strong negotiation skills; strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidates will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
