Ursa Major seeks an experienced Buyer to join our team in Berthoud/Longmont, CO. You will issue POs, coordinate deliveries, and communicate timelines to internal customers while supporting engineering goals and manufacturing.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in procurement, familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo preferred), and strong communication skills in a fast-paced, technical environment. This is an on-site role in Colorado.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Understanding of hardware-centered production environments.
• Project management knowledge and collaboration.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; Odoo is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders for materials, services, and equipment.
• Coordinate with Facilities for corporate event PO creation.
• Update leadership on open PO status and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Oversee supplier management system for compliance (ITAR/EAR).
• Maintain strong supplier relationships for timely deliveries and pricing.
• Assist with NDA creation and processing.

Ursa Major is looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team, who will report to the Procurement Lead. You will increase operational efficiency by engaging with our suppliers, issuing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and communicating timelines to internal customers. We prefer that you are proficient in informational flow and communication, which are necessary to succeed at a smaller, technical organization. You will support the Manufacturing team while facilitating engineering goals and supporting all organizational groups.

We prefer that you are comfortable using modern ERP systems, MS Office suite, project management software, and have excellent communication skills.

This role will work out of our Berthoud and Longmont, Colorado facilities.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, services, and equipment needed for manufacturing.
• Partner with Facilities to create and manage purchase orders for corporate events.
• Regularly update Supply Chain leadership and internal customers on the status of open purchase orders and delivery timelines.
• Assist in negotiating favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with new and existing suppliers.
• Assist in the oversight of the supplier management system, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations (ITAR/EAR).
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure prompt deliveries and optimal pricing.
• Aid in supplier non-disclosure agreement creation and processing.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple purchase requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Resolve issues related to price discrepancies, delayed shipments, or damaged goods; escalating when necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Material Control, Quality, Finance, and others, to meet project and production timelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment (aerospace experience is a plus).
• Understanding of hardware-centered production environment.
• Project management knowledge.
• Familiarity with modern ERP systems (experience with Odoo is a plus).

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $61,000 - $73,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can't quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.
