Job summary

Fontainebleau Las Vegas is seeking a General Buyer to manage overall purchasing in a luxury hospitality setting. The role emphasizes developing procurement plans and leveraging vendor partnerships to drive value.

You will develop long- and short-term purchasing objectives, solicit bids, negotiate contracts, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain accurate supplier records. Prior experience in hospitality procurement and ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Purchasing and Sourcing roles.
  • Prior experience in a luxury property preferred.
  • Experience with Financial and Procurement systems (Stratton Warren, Redrock, Infor, COUPA, BirchStreet, Oracle).
  • Strong procurement and supply chain knowledge within Hospitality/Casino.
  • Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Job description

Position Overview

The General Buyer is responsible for managing and supporting all general purchasing, focusing on developing a procurement plan and leveraging vendor partnerships.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the development of long- and short-term General purchasing objectives, supplier allocation, pricing, and contracts
  • Building on our established network of partnerships, solicit bid proposals and select the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency
  • Manage supplier relations and negotiate contracts, pricing, timelines, and all other related items
  • Monitor and manage supplier compliance to contract terms, product availability, quality, and service level expectations
  • Achieve established gross profit levels while maintaining a competitive cost basis through negotiation and vendor relationships
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of purchased items to the correct locations
  • Oversee items received, ensuring all inventory is properly recorded
  • Troubleshoot delivery issues and oversee return processes with vendors
  • Report all product breakages, reporting discrepancies and patterns of loss to management
  • Maintain clear and organized records of the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
  • Partner with leaders to conduct inventory audits as needed
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Purchasing and Sourcing roles, with an emphasis on General purchasing preferred
  • Prior experience working in a luxury property preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience of a Financial and Procurement system(s); Stratton Warren, Redrock, Infor, COUPA, BirchStreet, Oracle
  • Strong practical experience and knowledge of procurement and supply chain operations within the Hospitality/Casino industry
  • Ability to communicate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must communicate effectively and openly with superiors, subordinates, and external constituencies
  • Must possess sound business judgment, a high degree of personal motivation, and a very strong work ethic
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to stay calm under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
