Job summary

CPS Inc. seeks a Sr. Buyer to manage procurement of electrical materials for mission-critical commercial projects, including data centers and critical infrastructure.

You will source, negotiate, and secure long‑lead and high‑reliability electrical equipment to ensure technical compliance, cost control, and on‑time delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering, PM, and operations, monitoring market conditions, and driving supplier performance.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of procurement experience in electrical construction, mission‑critical facilities, or large commercial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• Strong knowledge of medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution, backup power, and critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own procurement for electrical materials including switchgear, UPS, PDUs, generators, busway, cable, conduit, panels, and breakers.
• Source and negotiate with major electrical distributors and OEMs to secure pricing, lead times, and equipment availability.
• Partner with engineering, project management, and operations to meet technical specifications and project schedules.
• Manage supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support long-lead and constrained equipment procurement through early manufacturer engagement.
• Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain risks.
• Coordinate logistics, expediting, and inventory to support fast‑paced construction and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and quality standards.

• Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain security clearance to be considered.
