Buyer, Contract possible Hire, Remote with infrequent onsite in Greenwood SC, up to 36/hr + benefits

We are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Buyer. This role supports operations through commodity management, procurement of major capital goods and services including source identification and qualification, quoting, and negotiating. The Buyer negotiates and/or administers purchase contracts for complex and highly technical items, materials, or services. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.

DUTIES:

  1. Research potential vendors by interviewing and conferring with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
  2. Negotiate contracts and pricing by estimating market values, obtaining vendor quotes, and negotiating terms.
  3. Use Excel and Ariba to create and monitor KPIs for the procurement department to measure effectiveness, including data analysis and reporting.
  4. Monitor vendor performance and recommend improvements to ensure quality and efficiency.
  5. Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors, providing purchasing data for reporting, and fully utilize SAP functionalities for analysis and reporting. Identify cost-saving opportunities.

REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or project management
  • 3+ years of SAP Ariba or other ERP experience
  • 2+ years of vendor management experience
  • 1+ year of materials procurement experience
  • 1+ year of contract negotiation experience
  • Proficiency with Excel for data analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
