Job description

Location: Farmington Hills, MI Job Schedule: Hybrid Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered Sponsorship: No Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Buyer 1, Engine Management Systems to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.

A Day in the Life:

  • Negotiate commodity pricing and support cost reduction initiatives to achieve departmental goals.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, evaluate suppliers, and recommend the most competitive sourcing solutions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and engineers to understand commodity requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Manage contracts, purchase orders, cost reduction plans, and savings validation for assigned commodities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and departmental objectives, coordinating cross-functional issue resolution and implementing mitigation actions as needed to meet quality, cost, delivery, and timing targets.
Who We’re Looking For Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 0 to 2 years of experience, or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • If holding an Associate’s degree, candidates must have 4 additional years of equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • The ability to work on-site in Franklin, TN.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
