Vail Health in Vail, CO is seeking a Buyer to manage direct procurement for the Vail Health and Surgery Center Supply Chain. This full-time, year-round position supports the hospital's purchasing activities, ensuring contracts and pricing accuracy from order to invoice.

You will process orders for stock and non-stock supplies, coordinate with departments, handle invoicing discrepancies with Finance, and contribute to process improvements while upholding HIPAA and Just Culture values.

• Knowledge of purchasing in medical facility required.
• HIPAA compliance expected.

Responsibilities

• Orders and expedites stock and non-stock supplies/services/equipment.
• Assures contracts/pricing are correct from time of order to invoice.
• Checks Departmental requisitions for accuracy before ordering.
• Helps direct related inventory management functions and cross-trained coverage.
• Troubleshoots fall outs and non-typical issues related to procurement.
• Proficient with Windows-based systems and MMIS software.
• Directs/coordinates communication with ordering departments.
• Works with Finance on invoicing discrepancies.
• Suggests improvements in Supply Chain methods and processes.

About the opportunity:

Responsible for the “direct” procurement activities for Vail Health and Surgery Center Supply Chain.

What you will do:

• Orders and expedites stock and non-stock supplies/services/equipment.
• Assures contracts/pricing are correct from time of order to invoice.
• Checks Departmental requisitions for accuracy before ordering.
• Helps direct related inventory management functions. Member of Materials Admin On-Call team and will be responsible for filling in for non-productive coverage in a cross-trained environment.
• Trouble shoots fall outs and non-typical issues related to procurement.
• High degree of windows sub systems (excel, word, e-mail) and specialty MMIS software.
• Directs/coordinates communication with ordering departments.
• Works with Finance on invoicing discrepancies.
• Suggests improvements in Supply Chain methods and process.
• Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
• Must be HIPAA compliant

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
