Job summary

Motive is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to join our California-based team. You will manage the procurement of materials for diverse, custom projects, negotiate with suppliers, and track deliveries to keep timelines on track.

You will collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to optimize costs, ensure material availability, and maintain strong vendor relationships. 3–5 years in commercial purchasing and strong Excel skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in commercial purchasing and supply chain logistics.
• Strong understanding of supply chain systems and processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Solicit competitive price quotes and negotiate with suppliers.
• Generate purchase orders and track deliveries.
• Monitor lead times, material availability, and WIP status across the supply chain.
• Communicate updates to key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sales to align demand planning and production schedules.
• Recommend inventory adjustments based on market trends or supply fluctuations.
• Manage inventory across multiple storage locations.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing vendors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
