Job summary

Motive Companies is seeking a Buyer to support procurement for dynamic custom projects in California. You will work with multiple departments to support supply chain activities, monitor supplier performance, and integrate demand planning with sales trends and forecasts.

The role requires 3-5 years of purchasing experience, strong Excel and ERP skills (SAGE or MS Dynamics), and the ability to manage inventory across locations. Salary range is $75,000–$85,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience with commercial purchasing and supply chain logistics.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and pivot charts, and ERP systems such as SAGE or MS Dynamics.

Job description

Purpose and Scope

The Buyer is responsible for assisting with the procurement of material to be used for dynamic custom projects. They work closely with multiple internal departments in the support of supply chain activities.

Responsibilities

• Solicits price quotes from suppliers.
• Generates POs.
• Monitors lead times, material availability, and WIP status across the supply chain. Informs key stakeholders of status and potential issues.
• Coordinates with sales teams to fold sales trends and forecasts into demand planning and product run rates.
• Suggests inventory adjustments based on changes in demand, market trends, or supply variability.
• Manages inventory across multiple storage locations.
• Builds and maintains relationships with new and existing third-party vendors.
• All other duties as required.

Education / Training

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly including Excel and the use of pivot charts.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, familiarity with SAGE or MS Dynamics.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience with commercial purchasing activities, facilitating supply chain logistics, and a thorough understanding of supply chain systems.

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000/yr
