The role requires issuing RFQs and purchase orders, expediting orders, and building strong supplier relationships while coordinating with planning and operations to meet manufacturing schedules. Travel up to 10% and NOFORN considerations apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related business.
  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing/supply chain environment.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • ERP experience, preferably Infor Visual.
  • Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division is in need of a buyer for their supply chain team. This position would directly support the supply chain team in day-to-day activities to ensure work progresses on schedule and with high quality. Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted organization in the defense industry.

Essential Job Functions
  • Issuing RFQs and purchase orders timely to support production
  • Managing supplier due dates and expediting crucial orders
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
  • Work with planning and operations to support manufacturing schedules
  • Assist with payables and invoicing questions/issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
Skills Desired
  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing/supply chain environment required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related business from an accredited institution
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Working experience in an ERP system, preferably Infor Visual
  • Highly skilled in Excel, Word, Power-Point
  • Be able to comprehend blueprints and drawings
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers
