Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division is seeking a Buyer to support our supply chain team in day-to-day activities, ensuring production milestones are met with high quality. The role emphasizes RFQs, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will work closely with planning and operations to maintain schedules and may assist with payables and invoicing questions. Travel up to 10% is required in this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing/supply chain environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related business from an accredited institution.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Working experience in an ERP system, preferably Infor Visual.
  • Highly skilled in Excel, Word, Power-Point.
  • Be able to comprehend blueprints and drawings.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers.

Responsibilities

Position: Buyer

Position Summary:

Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division is in need of a buyer for their supply chain team. This position would directly support the supply chain team in day-to-day activities to ensure work progresses on schedule and with high quality. Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted organization in the defense industry.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Issuing RFQs and purchase orders timely to support production
