Job summary

Vintage Air in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Buyer to help ensure parts are in the right place at the right time. You’ll work with vendors, production teams, and senior buyers to keep the supply chain moving and our performance climate control systems on the road.

The role emphasizes detail, contract reading, and cost negotiations, plus using SAP/MRP tools. You’ll grow within a tight-knit team that values reliability, collaboration, and weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in purchasing or procurement with inventory management and vendor negotiations.
• Strong detail orientation and accuracy in orders, invoices, and reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and SAP/MRP systems.
• Solid understanding of supply chain management theory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and exceed internal/external expectations.
• Proactive mindset with problem-solving focus.

What You'll Do

As a Buyer, you’ll help ensure that the right parts are in the right place at the right time—every time. You’ll work closely with our vendors, production teams, and senior buyers to keep our supply chain running efficiently.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

Assisting in purchasing raw materials, components, and services for production

Communicating with vendors to track orders, confirm delivery timelines, and resolve issues

Supporting price negotiations and contract reviews alongside senior buyers

Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders and vendor information

Monitoring stock levels and helping forecast inventory needs

Collaborating with cross-functional teams like Engineering, Accounting, and R&D

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, driven, and ready to grow into a key member of our procurement team.

Must-Haves:

2+ years of experience in a purchasing or similar role in procurement and inventory management and vendor negotiations, to include contract and cost negotiation and ability to read and understand contract terms and conditions

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders, invoices, and reports

Strong computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and MRP systems such as SAP or similar

• Possess a strong understanding of supply chain management theory

Excellent verbal and written communication and follow-up skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and proactively identify and exceed customer expectations - both internal and external

A proactive mindset—you don’t just spot problems; you help solve them

Bonus Points:

Experience with MRP/ERP systems

Exposure to vendor negotiations, inventory control, or supply chain theory

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
