Job summary

Ferretti Search is seeking a buyer who will manage materials and inventory across intercompany shipments and external suppliers. This role emphasizes ownership and continuous process improvement beyond maintenance of the status quo.

You will handle ERP-driven purchasing, analyze data, and coordinate inventory with a focus on on-time delivery and cost control. Travel up to 10% is required to support year-end inventories.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of purchasing experience.
  • International purchasing experience required.
  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
  • ERP experience required.
  • Strong data analytics skills and deadlines awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse inventory levels for efficient space use.
  • Process purchase order requests to meet material demands.
  • Verify inventory levels via MRP to schedule orders.
  • Adjust orders to minimize excess inventory.
  • Expedite orders and identify root causes to prevent repeat expediting.
  • Review receipts of goods into corporate warehouse.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Process all bin transfers for the warehouse.
  • Oversee input of all production completed at locations.
  • Coordinate annual Physical Inventory as building coordinator.
  • Plan orders months in advance to support cycles.
  • Drive process improvement as owner of purchasing function.

Job description

Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Travel: Up to 10% (primarily for year-end physical inventory at other ATW locations)

Role Overview

The Buyer is responsible for all materials and inventory entering the intercompany shipments, external suppliers (domestic and international), and production entries across the clients locations. This is an ownership-minded buyer who can drive process improvement rather than simply maintain the status quo.

Required Qualifications

  • International purchasing experience required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain, business administration, or a related field heavily preferred
  • ERP system experience required
  • Strong computer and data analytic skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and effective time management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in teams
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Open to candidates with broader manufacturing backgrounds
  • Forecasting experience
  • Power BI experience
  • Established vendor relationships a plus (client has existing vendors but is open to new ones)

  • Review and oversee the receipt of goods entries into the corporate warehouse
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Process all bin transfers for the warehouse
  • Oversee and manage the input of all production completed at specified locations
  • Act as building coordinator for the annual Physical Inventory
  • Place orders months in advance to support planning cycles
  • Drive process improvement initiatives as a self-directed owner of the purchasing function
