Ascent Structural is seeking a proactive Buyer to join our Purchasing team. You will procure materials, manage purchase orders, verify pricing and delivery, and collaborate with suppliers to meet production needs.

• Analyze purchasing data, pricing, usage, and other information using Microsoft Excel.
• Work closely with Production, Inventory, Accounting, Estimating, and other departments to support company requirements.
• Assist with inventory management and material planning as needed.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
• Support supplier performance evaluations and sourcing initiatives.
• Assist with additional purchasing and supply chain projects as assigned.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This position is responsible for supporting the procurement of materials, products, and services required to meet production and operational needs. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure materials are purchased at competitive prices, delivered on time, and meet required specifications. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, comfortable working with data, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This candidate can be based in our Portland, TN or Scottsboro, AL locations and will need to travel to either location.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Previous purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory, accounting, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP or purchasing systems.
• Experience with supplier negotiations and cost analysis.
