Job summary

Dometic is seeking a dedicated Buyer to join our Florida team. The role sits in Port St. Lucie/Stuart and reports to the Operations Manager.

You will negotiate with suppliers, support new product development, and ensure timely, accurate procurement to sustain production. A background in sourcing within manufacturing and strong Excel skills are preferred. We look for problem solvers who can manage inventories, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing or related fields preferred.
• Purchasing or strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Basic understanding of supply-chain management and ERP/MRP familiarity.
• Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
• Support development teams from definition to first production and field support.
• Ensure timely receipt of the right quantities of goods or services.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage consigned inventory when applicable.
• Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
• Maintain bills of materials in the ERP system to ensure accurate material drives.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to expand ERP system use for productivity and data management.

About The Position

We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Buyer. This position reports to Operations Manager and will work in Stuart/Port St Lucie, Florida.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Negotiate prices and commercial issues/terms regarding cost, delivery, replenishment lead time, shipping, etc.
• Be a supporting member of the teams assigned to develop new products from project definition to first production and field support
• Ensure that the right amount of the products or services are received in a timely manner
• Monitor inventory levels of current stock, assist in managing consigned inventory at outplant locations, and stay current on any changes in either the supply of or demand for needed products and materials
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on price, quality, on time delivery, service support, availability, reliability, selection, etc.
• Identify appropriate suppliers by studying catalogs, industry and company publications, directories, and trade journals
• Conduct financial analyses as directed
• Maintain bills of material in the ERP system to ensure proper material drives
• Control cost of goods sold by negotiating purchase prices as well as finding alternate vendors and materials
• Identify new ways to expand use of the ERP system for greater productivity, integration, and data management
• Manage completeness and correctness of all supplier work orders
• Provide data for KPI standards (inventory, productivity, quality, cost, and pick time)
• Audit, investigate, and record material issues and inventory discrepancies
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product, process, or quality system nonconformance
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, or quality system Ensure compliance to the Dometic Code of Conduct
• Complete other job duties and assignments as required

A suitable background would be a

solid experience within sourcing/purchasing and manufacturing – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

• Degree or certificate in business, supply chain management, engineering, project management, or a related discipline
• 2 to 3 years of experience in related field in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Purchasing or Strategic Sourcing in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic understanding of supply-chain management
• General knowledge of Intuitive ERP/MRP system or a similar system, Intuitive preferred
• Proficient in MS Office 365 Applications, Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel
• Reasonable math skills and able to form basic formulas
• Knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area using the principles of 5S
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
